Versatility under one roof
The design by KUP-Architekten combines different uses under one roof and creates tailor-made co-working spaces for the Automotive Excellence of South Tyrol, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and the Nobis event center. The integrated hydrogen storage system, which stores surplus electricity from the photovoltaic system and enables off-grid island operation, is particularly forward-looking.
Architectural concept
The aim of the design was to create a harmonious connection between the architecture and the surrounding landscape. The organic shapes and materials of the building reflect this throughout the design. The striking building envelope impresses with its contemporary aesthetics and innovative design. A load-bearing reinforced concrete structure is surrounded by a shell of vertical concrete louvres, which are twisted and visualize the interplay of the building's various functions. These slats also provide protection from the sun and weather.
If the material concrete also reflects the philosophy of technology in the interior with exposed concrete walls and columns, an imposing spiral staircase and polished concrete floors - the visually and haptically effective and space-defining CRAFT tile from Agrob Buchtal embodies the power to inspire people through design for the sustainable development of our society, to use ceramic material as a manifestation of creativity and innovation. Its appealing surface and high-quality glaze make it a prominent element in the park's design, from the counter design to the meeting and co-working areas of the cafeteria.
