Grooved tiles are mainly used in those places where there is an increased risk of falling for pool visitors. Their grooved, particularly slip-resistant surface offers good grip e.g. at the edges of stairs and prevents slipping. Their haptics and usually contrasting color send a clear signal to the user: it is important to pay attention here! Water-bearing or permanently wet stairs and the marking of edges are typical applications for grooved tiles. However, they are also suitable for haptic and optical boundaries or as guidance systems for visually impaired bathers.
