Inspired by the diversity of Africa, the new ceramic tile series Kiano is based on a fascinating interplay of calmer elements and extraordinary decorations. The distinctive natural design consisting of a mixture of stone and cement stands for naturalness and craftsmanship, but also for sensuousness. An extremely versatile collection of Agrob Buchtal, which provides immense creative scope for individuality and authentic designs in all private living areas.
The graphic basic principle of the tile series Kiano reflects the multifaceted culture of Africa. The design theme of the “artisanal lines“ forming the basis of the entire collection becomes apparent especially in the case of the three decoration elements in diverse variations. In the variant of the rod-shaped mosaic in the decoration Chess, for example, it seems as if fingers had drawn lines in clay. Prefabricated on a mat of 30 x 30 centimetres, this variant permits amazing accents on the wall and the floor - either only used as eye-catcher in certain places of the surface or laid next to one another, thus conveying the impression of an African fringed carpet.
The decoration Stroke in the trendy oblong format surprises with a quite particular haptic experience. By means of the sophisticated reactive printing method, a three-dimensional relief is created on the tiles, thus making the above-mentioned “artisanal lines” tangible as well. Available in two colours matched to the floor tiles, the oblong decorations offer further interesting design options for the wall.
The mosaic Metal in the colour brass also benefits from the possibilities of reactive printing. Captured in an extraordinary metallic glaze with a mystic look, every single one of the 5 x 5 centimetres mosaics is convincing both visually and haptically thanks to a different pattern with an ethnological, graphic touch. The mosaics of the Metal variant are available on sheets of 30 x 30 centimetres already prefabricated at the factory, which are easy to lay. The arrangement within the sheets intentionally varies, so that a playful rhythm as well as fascinating wall coverings with appealing dynamism are created almost automatically.
Wall tiles form the stage
To allow the various decoration elements to show to their best advantage, the design of the earthenware wall tiles in the formats of 30 x 60 and 35 x 100 centimetres intentionally is unobtrusive. They are available in sand-white, matt - alternatively without or with special print in the version Stroke, which effects a charming enlivenment of the overall picture thanks to slightly varying lines in the decor.
Floor tiles with distinctive breaking edge
The authentic, natural, archaic and robust floor tile also perfectly harmonizes with the decoration element Chess. Furthermore, a novel feature is the distinctive breaking edge, which emphasizes the tile edge as well as the relation to nature and the artisanal basic character of the series. The colours ivory-white, sahara-beige, atlas-grey and coal-black, structured have a supportive effect. The floor tile meets the requirements of slip-resistance category R10/A and is available in the formats of 30 x 60 and 60 x 60 centimetres.
The new series of the brand Agrob Buchtal is completed by matching stair tiles and skirtings as well as a slip-resistant porcelain stoneware mosaic (category R10/B) in the classic format of 5 x 5 centimetres.
Impressive practical advantages
Thanks to the “Protecta“ surface upgrading already applied at the factory, the floor tiles as well as the 5 x 5 centimetres mosaic Chess offer impressive and permanent practical advantages: “Protecta“ is ceramically bonded to the biscuit during the firing process and closes the existing “micropores“ quite natural for unglazed ceramics. The penetration of substances forming stains is effectively prevented in this way. A time-consuming subsequent impregnation is no longer required.
All other elements of the new series are provided with the in-plant HT (“Hydrophilic Tiles“) coating. This innovative solution is based on the effect of light and lends ceramic tiles revolutionary characteristics: they are extremely easy to clean, have an antibacterial effect without using chemical products and eliminate unwelcome odours as well as air pollutants. Thus, HT saves time and money and contributes to environmental protection thanks to the considerably reduced use of cleaning agents and disinfectants.
