For permanently beautiful facades

The effort involved in cleaning facades can be enormous. In 2024, the turnover of building cleaners in Germany was almost €30 billion, and it is growing every year—many millions are spent on cleaning facades alone. Hytect can significantly reduce this effort. This saves ongoing costs for property operators.

The self-cleaning effect of Hytect keeps facades clean

Dust, dirt, and other particles are washed away from facades every time it rains. This means that you can enjoy beautiful building exteriors for many years to come without any worries. In addition, ceramic facades are also very resistant with Hytect. Graffiti can be easily removed with appropriate agents without leaving any damage to the surface. Both of these factors ensure that Hytect facades remain beautiful and attractive for a long time. The costs for mechanical cleaning are almost completely eliminated.

Protection against moss, fungi, and algae

The warming of buildings has positive aspects. But there are also negative aspects. For example, during the dew period, moisture accumulates on insulated exterior walls. It can remain there for a very long time. If dust, dirt, or other organic substances are also present on the facade, this creates an almost ideal breeding ground for microorganisms. For example, moss, algae, or fungi. This can result in unsightly stains on facades.

Such stains are practically impossible on facades with Hytect ceramics. This is because neither dirt nor dust can remain there permanently. In addition, the photocatalytic effect causes the formation of activated oxygen. This ensures that fungi and moss cannot grow on the facade in the first place.

How the self-cleaning effect works

Titanium dioxide is fired into the ceramic at a high temperature. As a catalyst, it triggers a light-activated reaction with oxygen and humidity. This produces activated oxygen and a hydrophilic, water-friendly surface. The activated oxygen now performs two crucial functions. On the surface of the ceramic, it decomposes microorganisms such as fungi, algae, mosses, and germs and hinders their growth. This saves maintenance costs in the building life cycle. Air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides from traffic or industry are reduced. Hytect permanently improves the ambient air in the building.

The hydrophilic ceramic surface ensures that raindrops spread into a thin film and wash away the dirt. This self-washing effect prevents dirt from adhering. This minimizes cleaning costs. Active support in all weather conditions – sun and rain ütake care of effective, free, and environmentally friendly cleaning! Hytect keeps facades clean.

1 The surface tension of the water is overcome. A thin water film forms.
2 By the action of light, the catalyst activates oxygen. Microorganisms, algae, fungi and moss are decomposed.
3 When it rains, dirt and microorganisms are simply infiltrated and removed thanks to the self-washing effect.

One city, one environment – the same appearance – but one with Hytect and one without: While the facade on the left has become dirty and gray over time due to the accumulation of dirt and moss, the building on the right has retained its immaculate appearance even after many years thanks to Hytect. It should be noted that it has not been cleaned. And without the use of environmentally harmful fungicides or other chemicals. This is how Hytect contributes to sustainability.
