Ventilated curtain wall façades

Architectural freedom, technically sophisticated

Ventilated rainscreen cladding combines constructive logic with design freedom. Designed in a modular structure and flexibly plannable, they offer an architecturally and physically convincing solution for sophisticated building envelopes.

Ceramic facade claddings from Agrob Buchtal stand for expressiveness, technical durability and aesthetic precision. The separation of thermal insulation and weather protection not only enables a permanently functioning system, but also an economically and ecologically sustainable construction method.

With a diverse range of formats, colors and surfaces, Agrob Buchtal opens up new horizons of facade design - from clear geometry to individually developed special solutions. Whether in new buildings or in refurbishments: The ceramic VHF combines design standards with technical excellence - flexible, durable and material-compatible.

ADVANTAGES OF THE VHF FAÇADE

What makes the system strong

Sustainable and resource-saving
Durable and economical
Energy-efficient and climate-regulating
Resistant to frost and weathering
High fire safety
Tested earthquake resistance
Effective lightning protection
Optimized sound insulation
Sun and privacy protection

Sustainable and resource-saving

A rear-ventilated façade scores highly in terms of environmental friendliness: the ceramic façades can be dismantled according to type. The dry-laid façade panels can be easily dismantled and reused. This makes it easy to recycle all components.

Durable and economical

The construction of a rear-ventilated façade protects the underlying components from the effects of the weather. This ensures a long service life, minimizes damage and reduces maintenance costs. In addition, this construction method offers planning and cost security as well as weather-independent installation.

Energy-efficient and climate-regulating

In combination with mineral insulation materials, a rear-ventilated façade achieves excellent U-values. This minimizes heat loss in winter and optimizes the indoor climate in summer. The energy requirement for heating and cooling is reduced. In addition, temperature-dependent changes in length, which occur with metal or composite materials, are virtually eliminated with ceramic.

Resistant to frost and weather

Ceramic stoneware tiles are fired at approx. 1,260 °C and are characterized by extreme resistance. Their frost resistance in accordance with DIN ISO 10545-12 is tested in intensive tests with 100 freeze-thaw cycles.

High fire safety

Experts rate the rear-ventilated façade as very safe in terms of fire protection. The free choice of non-combustible system components allows all fire protection requirements to be met. The legal requirements for this are regulated in DIN 18516-1 and in the building regulations of the federal states.

Tested earthquake resistance

All façade products are tested in recognized material testing institutes. Country-specific certificates for earthquake safety are available and can be viewed on request.

Effective lightning protection

The metal substructures conduct lightning safely into the ground or can be combined with lightning protection systems. This not only protects the building structure, but also forms an electromagnetic shield that protects sensitive electronics inside.

Optimized sound insulation

A rear-ventilated façade not only reduces heat loss, but also effectively shields the building against noise. The high absorption capacity of mineral insulating materials in conjunction with high-mass external cladding increases the sound insulation value by up to 14 dB.

Sun and privacy protection in perfection

External solar shading devices optimally reduce the energy input from solar radiation. At the same time, the rear ventilation prevents the façade surface from heating up, thus contributing to a pleasant indoor climate.

STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF THE VHF FAÇADE

From the substrate to the cladding

The ventilated rainscreen façade separates insulation and weather protection - for lasting building security, energy efficiency and maximum design freedom. Architects and building owners benefit from the clearly defined layering of outer skin, air layer, insulation and supporting structure.
