Aesthetic ceramics – outstanding energy efficiency

Energy-saving, weather-resistant, and permanently beautiful: ceramic composite thermal insulation systems (ETICS) meet all the requirements for a perfect building envelope. The ceramic cladding is not only durable and colorfast. The wide range of formats, surfaces, and colors also offers enormous design possibilities. Custom-made products, one of Agrob Buchtal's strengths, open up additional freedom, as the reference projects on this website show.

Three-component composite thermal insulation systems (insulation layer, reinforcement, top coating) save heating costs and provide heat protection in summer. They thus make a decisive contribution to meeting the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV). New guidelines for facade insulation will further increase the importance of ETICS in the coming years. However, only approved system components may be used, depending on the building class and, if applicable, a fire protection concept; for example, non-combustible insulation systems with mineral wool or rock wool insulation boards with ceramic top coating for high-rise facades and increased fire protection requirements. ETICS facades also offer considerable advantages after property renovations: renting is simplified and, thanks to Hytect finishing, the low-maintenance facades incur only minimal maintenance costs.

Glued facade elements in ceramic thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are characterized by a wide variety of different surfaces. From brick-like facades to particularly smooth tile facades and modern, three-dimensional elements—the options are diverse. The pointed brick slips in the Craft series are particularly striking. These are characterized by their striking shape, which creates new visual effects depending on the colors, viewing angle, and incidence of light. The three-dimensional facade elements give the facade a striking depth and plasticity, which changes its appearance and offers ever-changing perspectives.

Excellent energy efficiency

Ceramic composite thermal insulation systems play a key role in meeting the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) because they reduce heating costs and provide thermal insulation in the summer.

Easy installation

Direct bonding of the facade elements makes the construction process particularly straightforward. The composite thermal insulation system consists of insulation boards that are doweled and bonded to the substrate. A ceramic cladding is then bonded to a base coat reinforced with fiberglass mesh.

Flexibility in design and aesthetics

Adhesive facades offer a wide selection of colors, shapes, and surfaces, making it easy to realize individual architectural design preferences. Modern facade designs and creative patterns can also be achieved with a variety of installation methods.

Even for challenging substrates

Thanks to the continuous bond of the ETICS, work can also be performed on difficult substrates that may not be able to withstand the localized loads of the VHF substructure (dowels, anchors).

Easy care and maintenance

The smooth, dense surface of an adhesive-bonded facade is particularly easy to clean, as dirt can hardly adhere to it. Once installed, these low-maintenance facades incur minimal upkeep costs.

Higher impact resistance

The strong bond with the substrate gives the bonded facade excellent resistance to mechanical stresses such as impacts or localized loads. This reduces the risk of damage from external influences.

System

Structure and function

The composite thermal insulation system consists of insulation boards that are doweled and glued to the substrate. A ceramic covering is then glued onto a base coat reinforced with textile glass mesh. The joint ratio must be at least 6%. The installation of ETICS must be based on the relevant general type approvals.
