135 centimetre stair tile

A homage to the staircase

From a rational point of view, staircases open up different areas of a building. From an aesthetic aspect, however, staircases are a gift for designers. Not unusually, they have a truly sculptural character that is skilfully set off by the right choice of tile covering. Like, for example, with a 135-centimetre-wide stair tile, such as those offered by Agrob Buchtal in many collections.

"A sensational idea"
Walter Kammermann, owner of a tiling company with 25 employees in Lucerne, has already used the extra-wide stair tile in several properties and is thrilled: "The 135 tile is a sensational idea from Agrob Buchtal. With it, I can cover the step completely with just one tile, without any intermediate joints. And this width is not only available for treads, but also for risers." Kammermann, who operates his business throughout Switzerland, will of course also use the 135 tile in his private new building, but has come up with a very special design solution for this project: "I will let the risers continue on the landing there. The stairs and landing thus create a brilliant effect as a unified component. The whole thing looks more elegant and spacious, and since the landing is 2.60 metres wide, I have less waste.

A homage to the stair
For the leading international supplier of architectural ceramics, modular tile series with a wide range of colours, formats and slip-resistant surfaces are part of the brand identity. The special format of the 135 stair tile was also recently developed for the new Ascona series, which opens up numerous possibilities for different style worlds with a sophisticated range of special solutions. It is also available in numerous other collections, such as the popular Area Pro.

Slip resistance and Hytect
The slip resistance classes R10 and R11 as well as variants with grooves ensure a safe step even when wet. The Hytect surface finish reduces the cleaning effort to a minimum, absorbs air pollutants and odours and has an antibacterial effect without chemical substances - an important factor when stairs are not only walked on but also used for sitting on or studying, as in schools, for example.
